  Half-Price "Do-It-Yourself" Saturday to Saturday Sale March  20-27, 2010 (Collector's Corner excluded)
 

 

You name it, if you can do it yourself, it's for sale.
All cooking, decorating, gardening, building, studies, diet, and personal growth (just to make a few categories) books and media will be half-priced from Saturday March 20 through Saturday, March 27. Stop by to check out our wonderful selection.

The Friends sponsor ongoing sale of books and media in their store located near the entrance of the Library.
 Hardcover and paperback books, movies, books on tape, and selected gift items are for sale.

Hardback and trade paperback books     $2
Mass market paperback books     50¢
Media for adults     $2
ALL children's materials     25¢

Check the NEW Collector's Corner

Collectables individually priced between $5 and $40 for adults and $2 - $5 for children's books.
Find rare, signed, and first editions many of which are out of print.

The Always Open Annex located in the Customer Service area has a selection of materials for adults, teens, and children available for purchase when the Friends Store is closed.

Friends Sponsor Saturday to Saturday Sales

Most months, the Friends will sponsor a week-long book sale in the Friends Store. Some will be store-wide clearance sales. Others will feature a type of book or books on a particular topic. The Store will be stocked daily with new offerings.

Proceeds from ALL sales directly support Library programs.
Your contributions are tax deductable.

Book Sale Rules

   
 

All the following materials are welcome, unless visibly falling apart, moldy, shredded, or otherwise too damaged to use.
If you are in doubt, please include them and we will make the determination:

  • Books -- all kinds, any subject, fiction , non-fiction, hard cover, paperback, especially recent paperback fiction and children’s books.
  • Music, books on tape, CD’s, DVD’s, cassette tapes and videos.
  • Recent encyclopedias, dictionaries and other reference materials, including computer programs and manuals and (please, not more than 5 years old)
  • Foreign language materials
  • Art and photography books.
  • All vintage materials that may have collectible appeal.
  • If you are unsure, give us a call.

Where should I bring my donations?

Donations can be dropped in totable bags or boxes at the Friends Store or the Circulation Desk of the Library.
If you have a large load, please come to the loading dock off Palm Street. Ring the bell and someone will come to help you unload.

Here's what you can do!

Hours Generally

 

  • Purchase books
  • Donate your used books
  • Renew your membership or join the Friends
  • Sign up to volunteer at Friends activities and in the Friends Store
  • Buy a tote or postcards showing Library Park and Monrovia's libraries

Monday - Wednesday
10 am to 7 pm

Thursday - Saturday
noon to 4 pm

Volunteer so the store can always be open  when the library is open.
